University of Nebraska at Kearney

Yes, I know, I’ve already written about the University of Nebraska at Kearney before, but this time it’s more on the reflection on the fact that a good number of my cousins from outside the state have decided to try for the University of Nebraska at Kearney instead of coming to live with us here in Lincoln to study at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Their reasons for choosing the University of Nebraska at Kearney instead of the Lincoln campus were varied – some of them mentioned that they like the idea of being on their own in a new place, while the others insisted that the emphasis of the University of Nebraska at Kearney on liberal arts is extremely appealing to them. I understand all their reasons; after all, I was a high school student once, and when I was wondering what I should do after graduation I also considered going to the University of Nebraska at Kearney – both for the supposedly superior liberal arts curriculum and for the distance from all that is familiar to me.

I suspect that some of my choices regarding the University of Nebraska at Kearney has something to do with the fact that I have obviously not grown up since my teenage years. Nevertheless, I find myself supporting my cousins’ decision to study at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, even if their parents protest the idea.
