North Platte Nebraska
The next city my dart seems to have hit is North Platte, Nebraska which many of my friends from university claim is actually the most boring bleeding town in the state. I looked it up (just now) and found myself wondering how boring I must be as a person if I actually thought that North Platte, Nebraska wasn’t as boring as, say, Norfolk (forgive me, I’m still bitter about that guy).
I mean, from what I could gather, Norfolk mostly had famous people being born/growing up/living there as points of interest. North Platte, Nebraska has Bailey Yard, which happens to be the WORLD’S LARGEST RAILYARD (yes, I am aware that I’m a nerd of epic proportions). WHY don’t people think that that was enough to make North Platte at LEAST a little bit cool? Or maybe I’m just a bit of a history nut.
Another thing that I’d want to visit in North Platte, Nebraska (if I ever do get off my tush to push through with that state road trip with Lily) is the Lincoln County Historical Museum display for the North Platte World War II Canteen. I’ve always liked stories, and that one was one of the best Nebraska stories my mother shared with me.
In any case, I really, really fail to see how North Platte could be the most boring town in Nebraska.
