Nebraska Vacation
“Hold on to your hat, girl, we’re going to go and have a Nebraska vacation and we’ve chosen YOU to be our guide!”
That was the message that greeted so very early this morning as I turned my computer on. It was from Sally, one of my very best friend from elementary school before she had to move away back in the fourth grade, we recently reconnected, and she’s been babbling ever since about having a Nebraska vacation with her husband Karl. What I’m wondering is this: what would possess her to think that I would make a good guide for a Nebraska vacation? Has she forgotten that I’m dismally, sadly, bad at geography? Okay, granted, I write about all things Nebraskan, but still!
But it DOES look like I’m going to have that road trip after all (I wonder if I could drag Lily along?), since doing a road trip is the best way to spend a Nebraska vacation. They can’t very well just spend their Nebraska vacation here in Lincoln, even though our Nebraska State Capitol Building kicks ass. Sure, the people and the attractions here are awesome, but it would be a waste of Nebraska vacation to just stay in one city.
This will be a learning experience, it looks like.
