Nebraska Service Center
Apparently, Lily got herself a boyfriend that she neglected to mention; I only found out about him with much thanks to the fact that Lara has a big mouth and that Lily wasn’t there. In any case, I found out that Drew (short for Andrew, even though his first name is Sean) is trying to get work at US Citizenship and Immigration Services in general and in particular, the Nebraska Service Center. I find myself bewildered at the idea of Lily having a boyfriend who will quite possibly work at the Nebraska Service Center. After all, Lily’s parents were pretty much almost illegal immigrants. Nevertheless, I really shouldn’t get too worked up about Lily’s boyfriend working at the Nebraska Service Center. So what if he processes (and possibly denies) the applications of people who want to move here? It’s just a job.
I think I’m more upset about me not being told about him rather than learning that she’s dating some guy who, if he had been born years earlier, would have made things difficult for her parents. Working at the Nebraska Service Center indeed.
Okay, maybe I’m a bit stuck on that fact, but only because I have a lot of friends from outside the country who want to move here.
