Nebraska News
Just had this conversation with Big Bill, one of my favorite hobos (he’s not really a hobo, more like a friend who’s too lazy to look for a job yet even though he graduated already). Anyway, he told me that I’m a little too obsessed with stories of the past; history and all that stuff. I knew that already, I already have a nickname because of that. But it really got me thinking: how out of touch am I with regards to the present, exactly? With that in mind, I decided to surf and ask around for Nebraska news. And it actually surprises me what much of us think should be thought of important Nebraska news.
I mean, sure, it’s interesting to take note of the fact that Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska has backed up Barack Obama – that could actually be important Nebraska news. Even the fact that a bill that wants active-duty members of the Nebraska National Guard to have more time to benefit from the college tuition offered to them by the state is good Nebraska news. But I am seriously baffled as to why some would think that the Northeast Nebraska Farm Show is considered state news (I’m talking about you, Angie, you silly girl). Even collegiate sports news is better than that.
Or maybe I’m just more inclined towards the great stories – the ones that will never be forgotten by time.
