Nebraska Medical Center
My friend Lily from Manila called me up about almost a year ago and told me that she’d be doing intern work for the Nebraska Medical Center System (she took up nursing in college), which means that we could actually see each other more often. I was inclined to agree, even though I’m not exactly from Omaha – where the Nebraska Medical Center is based. I’m really happy for her, though, since the Nebraska Medical Center System is one of the best in the country, if not the world. And I just know that Lily will come out as one seriously kick-ass nurse once she finishes her internship.
Seriously, though, I got another call from Lily just before Christmas – she was wishing me Happy Holidays – and she apologized for not seeing me more often. I’m not really surprised though, being in one of the best medical education facilities in the United States of America, I’m sure that she was practically always on call to administer quality care to its patients. She was laughing about her experiences at the Nebraska Medical Center, saying that she wanted to be assigned to pediatrics more often though the cardiology department doctors she belonged with them. I’m sure she’ll succeed in either place; she’s that kind of person.
