Nebraska Cornhuskers Football
Let me just say that my assertion of people’s obsession with Nebraska Cornhuskers football is ridiculous stands ever so firmly up to this day. I mean, like I said before – I’m husker fan myself, and I appreciate that they bring so much pride to our state. The fact that they’re part of a legacy so successful at such a relatively young age is even more fascinating. But I have to stress that the bar fights that my cousins and brothers (by blood or otherwise) over Nebraska Cornhuskers football have officially ticked me off. While I support Nebraska Cornhuskers football, I assure you all that I will never associate with their die-hard fans anymore – at least, not when they won’t shut up about it or during collegiate football seasons.
And if the Nebraska Cornhuskers football recruiting class incident of last week is any indication (I did not write about that because the experience of the verbal argument that ensued is painfully embarrassing for me to remember properly), I’m only thinking that things would get much worse, especially for the sons of the families who are not particularly interested and are being pressured into liking the sport. I’m all for family traditions, but this entire thing with Nebraska Cornhuskers football? Enough already.
