Nebraska Athletics
In an effort to forget about the Nebraska DMV, I bugged one of my male friends, Zeke, over the phone. And Zeke, being the guy that he is, began to talk about Nebraska athletics and why whenever someone says anything about Nebraska athletics, everyone immediately assumes they’re talking about the Huskers. It was satisfying, really. I got into a really healthy mutual rant over how unfair it seems to be that Nebraska athletics seems to have been stuck with just the collegiate stuff and never some real recognition for other sports circles. Well, it’s better than swearing a storm over a government establishment.
Sure, I’m willing to admit that right now, Nebraska athletics seems to be strongest in the college divisions. Those teams win in those sports, and nearly all of them have a very powerful history to back them up. As for athletics beyond the walls of schooling…well, one only needs to get on the search engine of one’s choice to discover the dismal fact that there really isn’t much information on that type of Nebraska athletics. Evidently, our collegiate Nebraska athletics are better publicized. It’s rather sad, really. We have some really good Nebraskan athletes who have already graduated. It’s sad to know that they kind of disappear in a way, after they’ve said goodbye to University, unless they move to another state.
