Lancaster County Nebraska
Okay, I know my last few posts didn’t explain why I fell off the face of the earth for two weeks, but chill. Lily and I just sort of sorted some stuff out over the tiff we’ve been having lately (the semantics and the boyfriend I didn’t actually know about). It’s all good now. In any case, the last few posts were written in the course of that long process of reconciliation Lily’s sister Lara jokingly called “The Nebraska Treaty of Peace 2008”. They’re not quite in order, and the time stamps are wonky, but I’m too lazy to fix that. In any case, we had a blast this weekend when she managed to get someone to cover for her and she and I went on a test road trip around my home county, Lancaster County Nebraska.
It’s a pretty short trip, considering we really didn’t stop anywhere for long – Lara, who lives to dub things, referred to our weekend as a “drive-by road trip”, which actually stuck. I like the name anyway, and it’s apt for what we had done here in Lancaster County, Nebraska over the weekend. We had a blast though, because even though Lancaster County, Nebraska is almost a hundred and fifty years old (a hundred and forty-nine, if I’m not mistaken), it’s still home to the capital of the state – which is incidentally also the county seat.
Ah, great times.
