Grand Island Nebraska
Grand Island, Nebraska is one of the cities that can be found in the Hall County of the State of Nebraska. Currently, Grand Island Nebraska is serving as the county seat of the Hall County. What makes Grand Island Nebraska a notable city of the state, however, is not just its name (which is wicked cool, you must admit). Rather, it’s the fact that the only institution that trains the law enforcement officers of the state and the Southern Power District stands in Grand Island (the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center or NLETC), Nebraska that makes the city special.
Grand Island was first established sometime in the late 1850’s, by German immigrants. Although the territory is not the same, the community had carried the name with them when they fled the area a short time later. Eventually, the community flourished as the site of a sugar beet processing factory. From there, Grand Island Nebraska became an agricultural site as well.
Apart from the NLETC, there are other places and events of note in Grand Island Nebraska. There are nature centers, water parks, and the Husker-Harvest Days held every September. Another special event, the Harvest of Harmony Parade (in which bands from all over the state participate) is held every October.
